Char-Broil TRU-Infrared Patio Bistro Electric Grill

Char-Broil steps a little out of their comfort zone with a flashy, well-designed electric grill. I didn’t expect this from Char-Broil, but I must say they’ve made a valiant effort and created a top electric grill that hits a lot of great bases.

Let’s start with the most important aspect: the amount of space on the grill. I can happily inform you that there is a pretty substantial cooking area on this electric cooker– 320 inches in fact. 240 of those inches are devoted to the main grill on the bottom, with an 80 inch cooking rack resting roughly three inches above. This means that, depending on the size of your patties, you should be able to cook at least 10 hamburgers at a time, which is definitely nothing to scoff at.

One of the main perks about electric grilling is the ease of regulating the temperature. The TRU-infrared heat is incredibly easy to manage, and you can begin to get very specific and scientific with your grilling, rather than adjusting to however the coals seem to be burning on a given day. The gauge on the lid makes it easy for you to track the temperature for the purposes of moderating. Don’t get me wrong, I still prefer charcoal, but it does seem like there is a big demand for folks who are looking to lessen their carbon footprint and use a lot less gas and charcoal; if this is you, this might just be the grill for you.

To be honest, I’m a bit of a sucker for the design. The vintage, bright red color brings a classic feel, making one nostalgic for simpler times. Also, the grill is well-built and practical in the sense that it is easy to use and easy to clean. The grates are coated with porcelain, and are totally rust resistant. The grill stands at 38.2 x 25.2 x 24.4 inches and weighs just slightly less than 50 pounds, which makes it conveniently portable.

TRU-Infrared technology is sophisticated, efficient, and environmentally it is quite friendly. Convective heat and infrared energy team up to thoroughly cook your food evenly while making the most of every degree of heat.

Easy to put together, simple to use, and the thing heats up as hot as any other grill I’ve used. At the end of the day, I think Char-Broil has put forward a pretty great product. I don’t have any serious complaints about it at all, and I have no hesitation recommending it, should you be looking for an electric grill.
